      Due to continued growth Next Generation are currently recruiting for a Production Manager on nights to work with the UK’s leading manufacturer of high integrity fastener solutions, based initially in Wolverhampton this position will lead to a site relocation to Wednesbury due to the on-going TUPE which falls in line with their vision to obtain the number one spot across Europe. As the Production Manager you will be responsible for managing machine shop personnel whilst driving continuous improvement.

       

       

      Duties of the Production Manager:

       

      • Co-ordinate and control the night shift operation of machine shop personnel so as to provide a safe, secure and efficient working environment.
      • Control, direct and monitor, machine shop resources, operations and facilities in order to adhere to project/programme schedules.
      • Manage and direct a team of skilled and technically based individuals, through sound personnel practices.
      • Identification of training needs and coaching alongside departmental succession planning.
      • Continuously review machining procedures and capability in order to sustain the most cost effective and efficient methods and make recommendations for improvement as appropriate.
      • Review tooling use and suppliers in order to sustain the most cost effective and efficient methods.
      • Ability to accurately estimate manufacturing lead times for various components over all machining disciplines.
      • shortfall or discrepancies against programme and budget.
      • Control and monitor operator daily bookings.
      • Train, plan and sustain machine shop 5S activities.
      • Plan and implement CI projects.
      • Create visual machine shop metrics.

       

      The successful candidate for the Production Managers position will have the following experience:

       

      • 3 – 5 year’s experience as a Production Manager/Toolroom Manager (Essential)
      • Previous experience of working on both CNC Turning and Milling machines along with management or supervisory experience of these skilled engineers (Essential)
      • Experience implementing CI Initiatives (Essential)
      • Man management experience (Essential)
      • Proven experience in a machine shop environment producing precision components (Essential)
